I offer EMDR intensives using a Depth EMDR approach that integrates EMDR trauma processing with Jungian depth psychology—combining nervous-system work with attention to meaning, dreams, and the psyche's symbolic life.

Why a weekend intensive?

An intensive is a focused container. It can create momentum—especially for clients who are ready for deeper work and want a concentrated format rather than weekly sessions.

But the weekend passes quickly. To get the most out of it, the work needs to be focused in advance.

What matters most for fit

In my experience, intensives work best when three conditions are present:

  1. Stability
You don’t need to be “perfect,” but you do need enough steadiness in daily life—sleep, support, basic functioning—so that processing and integration are workable.

  2. Some therapy experience
Using therapy well is a learned skill: knowing how to reflect, track inner experience, tolerate emotion, and integrate insight. If you’ve done some therapy already, you’re more likely to benefit from a compressed weekend format.

  3. Clear intention
A clear goal helps us use the time well. We define the focus ahead of time so the weekend doesn’t become diffuse.

What the container includes

  • preparation and pacing so we don’t outrun your nervous system

  • focused EMDR processing when clinically appropriate

  • breaks and structure throughout

  • at least one follow-up integration session

  • a personalized integration plan to support what unfolds afterward

Best-fit signs

An intensive may be a fit if:

  • you have solid baseline stability and support

  • you’ve done enough therapy to use the time well

  • you have a clear intention (a focused theme or goal)

  • you want depth work with structure and pacing

Not the best fit (for now)

An intensive is usually not appropriate if:

  • you’re in active crisis or need a higher level of care

  • active addiction/substance dependence or active eating disorder symptoms are present

  • your environment is currently unsafe or highly unstable

  • you cannot make room for rest and integration afterward
