There are things the nervous system can do across an unbroken stretch of time that it cannot quite do across forty-five-minute weekly sessions. When the container is held for longer, processing has the room to complete a movement rather than pause mid-arc. Material that would otherwise need to be re-approached weekly has a chance to settle in a single sustained engagement. The intensive format is built for that — not as a one-weekend fix, but as a different shape of the same careful work, with preparation and integration built in.

An intensive is extended, uninterrupted therapy time designed to create meaningful movement with preparation and integration built in. The pace is steady and workable—deep without becoming overwhelming.

Best fit for

This format is best when:

  • You're in a time-sensitive transition or you've hit a wall and want a dedicated push

  • Weekly therapy feels too slow for your life logistics

  • You can commit to preparation and integration (this is not a "one weekend fix")

  • You want EMDR with careful pacing, strong resourcing, and a depth-oriented frame

What this format can support

The format works well for trauma held in the body that hasn't released through weekly talk therapy, for a clear stuck place you want to give focused attention, or for the kind of plateau where you understand the pattern but it isn't shifting. It's less appropriate for diffuse exploration — the weekend asks for a clear focus going in.
